Drivers Urged to Use Caution: Patchy Fog Reported Across Region

Drivers in southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa should exercise caution this morning, September 28, due to patchy fog. The National Weather Service (NWS) in La Crosse, WI, issued a Special Weather Statement at 4:52 AM CDT, warning of potentially dense fog with visibilities as low as a quarter-mile.

This advisory affects the following counties: Mitchell, Howard, Winneshiek, Floyd, Chickasaw (Iowa), and Wabasha, Dodge, Olmsted, Winona, Mower, Fillmore, Houston (Minnesota). The NWS expects the fog to dissipate by 7:00 AM UTC (2:00 AM CDT).

Motorists are advised to be prepared for rapidly changing visibilities. Slow down, increase following distance, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Turn on low-beam headlights if visibility is reduced.
