KUA Summer Smart Squad Energy-Saving Tips Kissimmee
Kissimmee Utility Authority employees are offering practical strategies to help customers manage summer energy costs. The Summer Smart Squad will post weekly tips on social media throughout the season.
The team includes Celina Pizarro, a customer service representative; Todd Wexler, senior energy conservation specialist; Richard McCrimon, an apprentice lineman; and Rafael Eriksson, a mechanical maintenance technician. KUA mascot Sparky will also share tips.
The squad recommends closing blinds during peak heat, setting thermostats between 76–78°F, checking air filters regularly, and sealing air leaks. Other tips include washing clothes in cold water, using energy-efficient appliance settings, and setting ceiling fans to spin counterclockwise in summer.
