Residents in Murray, Pipestone, Kingsbury, Miner, Lake, and Moody counties are advised to drive with extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Sioux Falls, SD, issued the advisory at 6:12 AM CDT, effective immediately until 10:00 AM CDT today, October 12th.

Visibility is expected to be a quarter-mile or less at times within the affected areas of southwest Minnesota and east-central South Dakota. Such conditions can make driving hazardous, with rapidly changing visibility posing a significant risk.

The NWS urges all drivers to slow down, use their headlights, and maintain plenty of distance between vehicles. These actions are critical to ensuring safety during the advisory period.
