Monroe County to Hold Public Hearing on Marina Regulations

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, will consider for enactment, the adoption of the following described Ordinance at a Public Hearing to be held at the Murray Nelson Government Center, 102050 Overseas Highway, Key Largo, Florida, commencing at 9:00 a.m. on June 18, 2024, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. The proposed Ordinance is entitled as follows:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, will consider for enactment, the adoption of the following described Ordinance at a Public Hearing to be held at the Murray Nelson Government Center, 102050 Overseas Highway, Key Largo, Florida, commencing at 9:00 a.m. on June 18, 2024, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. The proposed Ordinance is entitled as follows: ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MONROE COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE; AMENDING SECTION 9.5.2(B)(1)(C) OF THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE REGARDING PUBLIC MARINAS; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the proposed ordinance is to amend the Monroe County Land Development Code at Section 9.5.2(B)(1)(c) to create regulations and standards for public marinas. All interested parties may appear and be heard at the public hearing. The meeting will be broadcast live on television on Comcast Channel 76 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. The meeting may also be live-streamed on the County’s website at: www.monroecounty-fl.gov. A copy of the proposed Ordinance, backup documentation, and staff reports are available for inspection at the office of the Monroe County Attorney, 500 Whitehead Street, Key West, Florida, and on the County’s website at: www.monroecounty-fl.gov. Interested parties may contact the Monroe County Attorney’s Office at (305) 292-3440 for information. ANY PERSON WHO DECIDES TO APPEAL ANY DECISION MADE BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WITH RESPECT TO ANY MATTER CONSIDERED AT THE MEETING IS ADVISED THAT THE PERSON WILL NEED A RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS, AND THAT, FOR SUCH PURPOSE, THE PERSON MAY NEED TO ENSURE THAT A VERBATIM RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS IS MADE, WHICH RECORD INCLUDES THE TESTIMONY AND EVIDENCE UPON WHICH THE APPEAL IS TO BE BASED.
