Rex Henry Ogle Courts Building to Open April 6

Sevier County, Tennessee (April 2, 2026) - The Rex Henry Ogle Courts Building will officially open to the public on Monday, April 6, 2026. Located at 127 Commerce Street, the new facility will house Circuit Court, General Sessions Court, and related offices. The building is designed to better serve the growing needs of Sevier County by improving accessibility and efficiency for court services. Public parking for the new building is available in the lot located at West Main Street and Court Avenue, as well as in the lot in front of the Sevier County Courthouse, facing Forks of the River Parkway. All visitors to the Rex Henry Ogle Courts Building should use the main entrance, which is located on the side of the building facing the Sevier County Courthouse, opposite West Main Street. Every individual visiting the Rex Henry Ogle Courts building for court proceedings or to conduct business with the General Sessions Clerk’s Office or Circuit Court Clerk’s Office will be required to pass through security screening by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office upon entry. Prohibited items include weapons, guns, blades, pocket knives and cutting tools, cell phones or radios, purses, backpacks or luggage, and outside food or drinks. The General Sessions Clerk Juvenile Division, located at 125 Court Avenue, Suite 308W, will remain in its current location within the courthouse. The historic Sevier County Courthouse remains open to serve the public. The County Clerk’s Office, Trustee’s Office, Property Assessor’s Office, Clerk and Master’s Office, and Mayor’s Office will continue normal operations in the courthouse. The Rex Henry Ogle Courts Building will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This opening marks the completion of the transition of court operations into the new facility. Additional updates will be shared as needed.

The proposed amendment would increase appropriations in the General Fund as follows: Fire Department - $67,000 Information Technology Department - $214,000 Parks and Recreation Department - $35,000 Police Department - $70,000 Street Department - $37,000 Capital Projects - $3,535,000 These increased appropriations would be offset by increased revenue projections of $1,693,000 and use of fund balance in the amount of $2,215,000."

The City of Sevierville does not discriminate based on race, color, or national origin in federal or state sponsored programs, pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000d.)"
