Kalkaska Township provides a network of trails for various outdoor activities, including ORV, snowmobile, motorcycle, and hiking. The township boasts 15 to 20 miles of ORV and snowmobile trails that traverse parts of routes 76, 79, and 679. Among these is the Blue Bear Trail, with a trailhead accessible from Starvation Lake Road.

Additionally, approximately 16 miles of dedicated motorcycle trails wind through the local hills and wooded areas, offering scenic routes for riders.
