Jupiter Police Earn Dual National Accreditation
The Jupiter Police Department holds accreditation from two national law enforcement organizations, a status the agency has maintained for more than two decades.
The department earned its initial accreditation from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation in 2000 and from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies in 2004. Most recently, CFA reaccredited the department in 2025 and CALEA in 2024.
Both organizations assess every aspect of a police department's organization, management, operations and administration. Agencies must meet specific standards for professionalism in internal operations and community interactions.
CALEA designated Jupiter police as both a Gold Standard and Meritorious agency. CFA recognized the department with Excelsior status, the state organization's highest designation.
The department underwent eight CFA reaccreditation cycles and six CALEA cycles. Accreditation reviews assess an agency's ability to prevent and control crime through policies, procedures, training requirements and operational protocols.
Few Florida law enforcement agencies hold both state and international accreditation simultaneously.
