Citizen Science: Oakland Butterfly Count Saturday, July 27, 2024 9:00 AM 11:00 AM Calling all butterfly enthusiasts! Join us for a morning of citizen science as we conduct a butterfly count at the Oakland Nature Preserve. We'll be exploring the preserve's diverse habitats to identify and count as many butterfly species as possible. Your observations will contribute valuable data to ongoing research efforts and help us monitor butterfly populations in the area. This event is free and open to all ages and skill levels. No prior experience is necessary – we'll provide guidance on butterfly identification techniques. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. If you have binoculars or a butterfly field guide, feel free to bring them along as well. Registration is required. Space is limited, so please sign up today!
