This advertisement is for an Employment Specialist position at the Okaloosa Youth Development Center. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for: • Assists youth in the development of job readiness skills, including resume writing, interviewing techniques, and job searching strategies. • Identifies and develops employment opportunities for youth through networking and collaboration with community partners and employers. • Matches youth with appropriate job opportunities based on their skills, interests, and abilities. • Provides ongoing support and guidance to youth in maintaining employment, including conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. • Conducts regular follow-up with employers to assess job performance and provide additional support as needed. • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all youth employment activities. • Participates in team meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills. • Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: • Knowledge of case management principles and practices. • Knowledge of employment resources and job search strategies. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records. • Ability to use computer software and technology effectively. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Experience working with youth in a correctional or educational setting preferred. • Valid driver's license. • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
