Four Creek State Forest 4300 County Road 108 Hilliard, FL 32046 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a field position responsible for traveling to assigned businesses/locations in a state vehicle performing safety inspections of Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gas facilities and equipment. Inspects LP gas facilities and equipment for compliance with applicable laws, rules and standards. Documents inspections by preparing inspection reports, warning notices, and other compliance documents. Properly maintains and operates assigned state vehicle and equipment. Investigates consumer complaints by interviewing involved parties, inspecting equipment and facilities, and taking appropriate action according to applicable rules and laws. Prepares cases for administrative and civil action; provides technical assistance to industry and the public; enforces compliance with applicable laws and rules; testifies at administrative hearings and in court. Reviews construction plans and specifications for LP gas installations to determine compliance with applicable codes and standards. Provides information, training and assistance to other agency personnel, industry representatives and the public. Responds to LP gas emergencies, provides assistance to local emergency response personnel and performs other work as required. Performs other duties as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of experience in LP gas code enforcement, LP gas installation, LP gas sales, or LP gas delivery. Possession of a valid driver license. Must obtain certification as an LP Gas Inspector from the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board in accordance with Chapter 468, Part XII, Florida Statutes, within one year of employment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of LP gas codes, standards and safe practices and procedures. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, laws and regulations. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
