Winter Storm Watch Issued: Prepare for Heavy Snow and Difficult Travel
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Cascade, Judith Basin, and Meagher Counties from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon, with heavy wet snow and difficult travel expected.
A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Cascade County below 5000 feet, Judith Basin County and Judith Gap, and Meagher County Valleys. The National Weather Service in Great Falls advises residents to monitor forecasts and prepare for heavy wet snow and difficult travel conditions.
The watch is in effect from Saturday evening, October 10th, through Sunday afternoon, October 11th. Total snow accumulations of up to 7 inches are possible, with wind gusts reaching as high as 30 mph. These conditions could make travel very difficult. The heavy wet snow may also cause tree limbs and power lines to come down, potentially leading to power outages.
Residents should monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this developing situation. Additional details from the National Weather Service indicate that any snow bands developing over an area or northerly upslope areas of the Little Belts could experience locally higher snowfall rates and amounts.
