Strong Thunderstorm Warning: Craighead and Poinsett Counties

Residents in Craighead and Poinsett counties are advised to seek shelter indoors as a strong thunderstorm approaches. The National Weather Service in Memphis, TN, issued a Special Weather Statement at 11:10 PM CDT on September 21, effective until 11:45 PM CDT.

Doppler radar indicates a strong thunderstorm near Cash, or Bono, moving southeast at 15 mph. Hazards include wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half-inch hail. These conditions could lead to downed tree limbs, unsecured objects blowing around, and minor damage to vegetation.

Areas expected to be impacted include Jonesboro, Bono, Bay, Cash, Egypt, Pitts, Hergett, Apt, Herman, Valley View, Dryden, Dorothy, Risher, Winesburg, Gilkerson, Uno, Otwell, Cary, Herndon, and Bayou De View State Wildlife Management Area.
