A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Peachtree City GA, effective from midnight tonight, October 9, until 11 PM EDT Saturday, October 10. Residents in Oglethorpe, Wilkes, Morgan, Greene, Taliaferro, Butts, Jasper, Putnam, Hancock, Warren, Lamar, Monroe, Jones, Baldwin, Washington, Glascock, Jefferson, Crawford, Bibb, Twiggs, Wilkinson, Johnson, Peach, Houston, Bleckley, Laurens, Dooly, Crisp, Pulaski, Wilcox, and Dodge counties are advised to secure outdoor objects.

East winds are expected to reach 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. These strong winds may blow around unsecured objects, and tree limbs could be blown down. A few power outages may also result from these conditions.

The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Extra caution is recommended for drivers. Residents should take immediate action to secure any outdoor items that could be impacted by strong winds.
