House Passes $95 Billion Foreign Aid Package

WASHINGTON – The House of Representatives passed a $95 billion legislative package on Saturday, April 20, allocating funds for foreign aid and border security measures. The package includes separate bills providing assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

Republicans in the House introduced the aid package for consideration. Lawmakers approved each bill individually before combining them into a single legislative measure for Senate review.

The legislation directs over $60 billion towards Ukraine, primarily for military assistance. It provides about $26 billion to Israel, with a significant portion dedicated to missile defense systems. An additional $8 billion goes to Taiwan and other allies in the Indo-Pacific region, focusing on strengthening regional security capabilities.

The package also contains provisions addressing border security. These measures include funding for operations and technology at the U.S. southern border.

Democrats advocated for domestic spending priorities during the legislative debate. They cited a need to allocate funds within the United States, particularly for initiatives aimed at reducing costs for American citizens.
