NAS Jacksonville Wins Navy Fire Prevention Award
NAS Jacksonville earned the Fire Prevention Program of the Year award from the Commander, Navy Installations Command, announced May 9, 2024.
The honor recognizes the station's fire and emergency services personnel. Edward Cannon, CNIC Fire and Emergency Services Director, said the award acknowledges "outstanding performance and contributions in protecting our people, property, and the environment."
The annual awards program also honored seven other Navy personnel: Assistant Fire Chief Eric Schrenk from NAS Corpus Christi (Fire Officer of the Year), Fire Fighter Kyle McMartin from Naval Base Kitsap (Fire Fighter of the Year), Fire Inspector Robert James from Naval Weapons Station Earle (Fire Inspector of the Year), NAS Lemoore (Fire Training Program of the Year), Paramedic Eric Solis from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune (Emergency Medical Services Provider of the Year), and Lead Dispatcher Raymond Bigelow from Naval Support Activity Annapolis (Telecommunicator of the Year).
Recipients will receive formal recognition at the Fire and Emergency Services Workshop in August in San Antonio, Texas.
