Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Lifts Emergency Burn Ban After Expert Consultations

Jacksonville, FL – The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) announced today the immediate lifting of the burn ban that was in effect across the city. This decision means residents can now resume outdoor burning activities, provided they adhere to existing regulations.

Director/Fire Chief Percy Golden II made the decision to lift the ban. He consulted with the National Weather Service, the Florida Forest Service, and the Emergency Preparedness Division before making the announcement. The burn ban was originally issued under Jacksonville Municipal Code Section 420.202(e).
