College Faith Retreat in St. Augustine Draws Students
College students from Florida and beyond attended a faith retreat at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche in St. Augustine on March 28, hosted by the Office of Human Life & Dignity.
The day opened with Mass at the Rustic Altar. National speaker Jeff Joaquin presented on "Lost Fatherhood," while Bishop Erik Pohlmeier addressed students on becoming advocates for human dignity in college and beyond. Joaquin has now spoken twice at events organized by the office in the past year.
Students reflected on their role in the world and God's presence in daily life. Despite worsening weather, attendees remained engaged, wrapping themselves in blankets and beach towels as temperatures dropped.
Bishop Pohlmeier spent time in one-on-one conversations with students throughout the day.
