The City of Jacksonville Beach will end its paid parking program on November 1, 2026. The program, which began March 6, 2026, ran Fridays through Sundays, on select holidays and during special events.
Parking enforcement occurred during specific hours. Weekend hours ran from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday, and 10 a.m. Sunday to midnight. Weekday holiday hours started at 10 a.m. and ended at midnight.
Paid parking zones included on-street parking in the 100 block of 6th Avenue North and at the 6th Avenue North street-end. Paid parking also applied to street-end spaces on First, Second, and Third Avenues South, and along the 100 and 200 blocks of these avenues. Designated lots were at 14 1st Street North (Latham Plaza), 422 1st Street North, 503 1st Street North (Pier), and 450 2nd Street North.
Regular parking cost $4 for the first two hours, then $2 per hour with a $12 daily maximum. Jacksonville Beach residents registered with the vendor, SP Plus/Metropolis, parked free. Holidays and special events, including Springing the Blues, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Beaches Oktoberfest weekends, charged a $15 flat rate.
Paid parking did not apply during the Sea and Sky Spectacular or the Opening of the Beaches Parade.
Payments accepted credit/debit cards at kiosks in the Pier and Latham Plaza lots. Cash was not accepted. QR codes at each location also allowed payment. Kiosks offered instructions, and malfunctioning units could be reported to an SP Plus/Metropolis ambassador or by calling 904-356-9841.
Vehicles could remain overnight, but fees resumed at the start of the paid parking period the next day. Handicapped parking spaces were available in each lot. Vehicles with Disabled Veteran plates, specialized equipment, or a permanent handicap designation were exempt from fees, per Florida State Statute 316.1964. Eleven low-speed vehicle parking spaces were in the Pier Parking lot.
Oversized vehicles exceeding 22 feet in length or 10,000 pounds gross weight could not park east of 3rd Street between 16th Avenue North and 16th Avenue South, per Municipal Code 31-39(A)2. Fifteen-minute quick pick-up parking spaces were in the downtown area.
The City partnered with SP Plus/Metropolis for the parking contract, with company ambassadors present during paid parking hours. Residents registering for free parking needed to provide vehicle registration and a driver's license with a Jacksonville Beach address, or an electric utility bill. Registration could take up to 14 business days.
