CLARKE COUNTY, AL – October 8, 2026 – A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Clarke County, including Jackson, Thomasville, and Grove Hill, effective from 4:14 AM CDT by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile, AL. This watch indicates that tropical storm conditions are possible within the specified area.

Residents should now be actively preparing for dangerous wind conditions, with potential for peak winds of 20-30 mph and gusts up to 35 mph. However, there is a threat of winds reaching 58 to 73 mph. Significant damage to roofing, siding, and outbuildings is possible, along with downed trees and power outages. Efforts to protect life and property should be underway immediately. Complete preparations before hazardous winds arrive.
