A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Clarke County, including Jackson, Thomasville, and Grove Hill, effective immediately, October 8 at 4:04 PM CDT. The National Weather Service in Mobile, Alabama, warns residents to move to safe shelter before hazardous winds arrive.

Peak wind gusts of up to 50 mph are expected, with a potential for winds reaching 58 to 73 mph. Significant wind damage is possible, including damage to roofing, siding, and mobile homes, as well as downed trees and power outages. Complete all efforts to protect life and property now.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with 3-6 inches of rain expected and locally higher amounts. This poses a potential for major flooding, which may prompt evacuations and rescues.
