FULTON, ITAWAMBA COUNTY — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Memphis, TN has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Fulton, Itawamba County, effective immediately from October 9 at 10:10 PM CDT until October 10 at 6:15 AM CDT. Residents are advised to act now to complete preparations.

Forecasters anticipate peak winds of 15-25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. This could result in limited damage to structures like porches and sheds, numerous broken large tree limbs, and scattered power outages. Efforts to protect property should be underway. Driving conditions may become hazardous due to debris and potential road closures, especially on bridges and elevated roadways.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 1-3 inches of rain expected, with locally higher amounts possible. This moderate flooding potential could lead to evacuations and rescues. Rivers and tributaries may swell, and floodwaters could impact structures. Heed all flood watches and warnings, as failure to act may result in serious injury or loss of life.
