Ishpeming Consolidates Voting to Single Precinct at KD Hall

Ishpeming voters will cast ballots at KD Hall starting with the August 4, 2026 State Primary after the City Council approved consolidating the city's two election precincts into one.

All voting will take place at KD Hall, 326 Pine Street. Voters enter through the gymnasium entrance on Pine Street. The City Council approved the consolidation December 17, 2025, following a December 10 vote by the Ishpeming City Election Commission.

State legislation raised the maximum number of registered voters allowed in a single precinct from 2,999 to 4,999. The new precinct structure took effect immediately after the council's approval.

City Clerk Cathy Smith mailed new voter identification cards to all registered voters. Voters who did not receive a card or have questions can contact Smith at 906-485-1091, extension 203, or visit City Hall at 100 East Division Street.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on election days. Absentee voting and nine-day early in-person voting continue at Negaunee Township Hall, 42 East M-35 in Negaunee.
