The Three-Second Pause That Protects Your Day
You don’t need a dramatic boundary speech to stop overcommitting. One ordinary sentence, used consistently, can give you back the space to make honest choices.
The Tiny Bird That Refuses to Quit
Emily Dickinson turns hope into a small, stubborn creature that sings without asking permission—or payment. Read this poem once, and you may never think of optimism as a grand speech again.

The Sentence That Can Expose a Foolish Thought
George Orwell had a wonderfully rude theory about bad writing: it does not merely reflect muddled thinking—it helps produce it. Try his test today on the next sentence you write.

Tariffs, Shutdown Threats, and the Price of Political Theater
Washington keeps turning routine governing into a cliffhanger, while families absorb the costs through higher prices and thinner public services. Four stories explain why the noise matters, plus one quieter fight that could reshape American health care.

Immersive Van Gogh Is Not a Museum. Good.
The giant projection room gets mocked for turning masterpieces into wallpaper. I say it should stop apologizing and admit what it really is: a very expensive, occasionally moving screensaver with excellent snacks.

Cut Your First Hand-Cut Dovetail with a $15 Saw
A small keepsake box is the perfect excuse to learn dovetails: four joints, inexpensive lumber, and no table saw required. The secret is not superhuman precision—it’s cutting on the correct side of the line.

Dog License
2026 DOG LICENSES (Available effective 12/1/2025) In Pennsylvania, all dogs must be licensed at the point of purchase or adoption (earliest is 8 weeks of age) and by 3 months if no transfer of ownership has occurred. All dogs that do not have a lifetime license must be licensed by January 1st of each year.Keep your dog safe and protect your wallet. A dog license costs far less than the $500.00 fine plus court costs you could face as the dog owner for not having one. Licensing brings lost pets home faster. A license is easier to spot. A microchip isn't. Give your dog the protection they deserve and keep them licensed.
