Strong Storm with 50 MPH Winds Moving Through Tarrant and Dallas Counties

Residents in Tarrant and Dallas Counties should prepare for a strong thunderstorm currently impacting the area, according to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service Fort Worth TX.

At 4:06 PM CDT on September 20, radar indicated a strong thunderstorm near Pantego, or Arlington, moving northeast at 10 mph. This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 50 mph. The National Weather Service advises that these gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects, with minor damage to outdoor objects possible.

The storm's projected path includes Fort Worth, Arlington, and Pantego around 4:10 PM CDT, Hurst around 4:25 PM CDT, and Euless and Bedford around 4:30 PM CDT. Other areas impacted include Lake Arlington, Mountain Creek Lake, Dalworthington Gardens, and Grapevine Lake.

Travelers on Interstate 35W between mile markers 50 and 58, Interstate 20 between mile markers 439 and 461, and Interstate 30 between mile markers 15 and 40 should be aware of conditions.
