Chesapeake Beach Gets State Grant to Test Water for PFAS Contamination

Chesapeake Beach will use a Maryland Department of the Environment grant to investigate and address Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in its public water system.

PFAS are man-made chemicals found in industrial products and consumer goods that can contaminate drinking water. Mayor Steve Pardoe said the funding will allow the town to assess water quality and implement treatment strategies if needed.

The town plans to conduct investigations and maintain water quality standards. Updates will be posted as the project progresses.
