Passports The Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller is an acceptance agent, responsible for receiving and forwarding your application to the Department of State, Passport Services. The U.S. Department of State establishes the guidelines for acceptance and how the passports are processed. Should you have any questions, problems, or concerns, please contact the appropriate Passport Office by calling toll free at 877-4USA-PPT ( 877-487-2778) or for TTY/TDD 888-874-7793. You can also obtain information about passports by visiting any of the following pages on the Travel. State. Gov website. Instructions for Application with the Clerk of the Circuit and County Comptroller Please Note: All applicants must appear in person when applying for a passport, including minors. The Citrus County Clerk of Court and Comptroller cannot process DS-82 passport renewal forms. However, we are able to take passport pictures required for that application. Clerk Offering Free Passport Photos The Clerk is proud to offer free Passport photos for all Veterans and Active-Duty Military personnel.

Divorce / Dissolution of Marriage

As in all matters involving the law, if you don’t feel fully comfortable or qualified to represent yourself, you may want to consider obtaining the services of a competent attorney. If you decide to represent yourself, this office can provide you with the appropriate Dissolution of Marriage packet. There are four separate packets from which to choose, based on your family circumstances. Dissolution of Marriage packets are comprised of Florida Supreme Court Approved Family Law Forms, as well as additional forms provided by the 5th Judicial Circuit.The Florida Supreme Court Approved Family Law Forms have been developed for use by the Florida Supreme Court, and are designed for use by everyone, but are especially helpful to individuals who wish to represent themselves (pro se) in court matters related to family law. The additional forms in the Dissolution of Marriage packets that are provided by the 5th Judicial Circuit are forms that are designed for specific use within the 5th Circuit. Ordering Dissolution of Marriage Packets The Clerk and Comptroller's office has the appropriate Dissolution of Marriage packets available for pick up, or you may order the forms by mail or phone. Filing Fee $408.00 payable to the Citrus County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller

Property but No Dependent / Minor Children Requirements May be used when a husband or wife is filing for a dissolution of marriage, and the husband and wife have marital assets and/or marital liabilities but they do not have any dependent children, nor is the wife now pregnant. You and/or your spouse must have lived in Florida for at least 6 months before filing for a dissolution in Florida. If you and your spouse agree on all issues and both can attend the hearing, you may want to file a simplified dissolution of marriage petition, Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure Form 12.901 (a). However, you cannot file for a simplified dissolution of marriage if any of the following are true: You disagree about property, debts, or other matters and wish to have a judge settle them for you. Either you or your spouse is seeking support (alimony). You would like to ask questions and get documents concerning your spouse's income, expenses, assets, debts, or other matters before having a trial or settlement. You would like to reserve your rights to have any matters reconsidered or appeal the judge's decision.

Unified Family Court

Unified Family Court (UFC) is a comprehensive approach to handling all cases involving children and families while resolving family disputes in a fair, timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. UFC judges hear all delinquency and dependency cases and identified interconnected cases involving domestic relations issues, including domestic violence. UFC also provides prompt linkage to related services. Unified Family Courts are designed to have one judge oversee all matters involving one family. Matters handled under the umbrella of Unifed Family Court include: Adoption Child Support and Domestic Relations Divorce/Dissolution of Marriage Juvenille Court Mental Health Name Changes Paternity/Parenting Plans Transfers A matter may qualify for transfer into the UFC when two or more open "related" cases among family members with issues concerning the same children are pending simultaneously in the Family, Juvenile, and/or Domestic Violence Divisions. Self-Help (Pro Se) Program The 5th Judicial Circuit Family Division Self Help Office provides case management services for Non Child Support Enforcement Family Division matters. For additional information on the Self Help (Pro Se) Program and Office, and to access forms designed for use within the 5th Judicial Circuit, visit the 5th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida website.
