Comptroller | Citrus County Clerk of Courts, FL Home Comptroller Comptroller Section 1. (d), Article VIII, State Constitution, provides that "the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller shall be Ex-Officio clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, auditor, recorder and custodian of all county funds". Audit the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) payments to ensure that transactions are valid, legal and meet a public purpose. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable. Maintain an inventory of County fixed assets, including tangible personal property, buildings, land and other Board-related improvements. Manage cash including investment of surplus County funds. Process payroll for all BOCC, Supervisor of Elections (SOE), Property Appraiser (PA) and Clerk employees. Account for grant funds. Audit contract expenditures. Prepare Department of Revenue tax filings. Prepare financial reports, including the County's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report - See REPORTS. The Citrus County Clerk of the Circuit Court & County Comptroller is committed to financial transparency, and to providing access to the information to which taxpayers are entitled.

Update to Florida Courts E-Filing Payment Processing

On November 20, 2021, the Florida Courts Portal moved to a new payment processor. This will have an effect on filers regarding payment. Currently, payment is accepted when the Clerk accepts and processes the document. When this change occurs, payment will be accepted at the time of filing through the Portal. The Clerk will continue to process documents pursuant to statutory guidelines which could be up to 3 days following submission. If filings are rejected by the Clerk for correction, filers still have 5 days to correct and resubmit otherwise a refund will be initiated by the Portal. If the filing is corrected and resubmitted and the fees are different from the original amount, the portal will refund the original payment and create a new payment for the updated amount. Refunds will take 2-5 business days to appear in your account depending on your financial institution. For this reason, please be sure to thoroughly review your filings prior to submission to reduce the need for the Clerk to reject them. Court Case Confidential Information Rules (2.420)

As Clerks of Court, our offices protect the public by reviewing and redacting confidential personal information included in court documents, and we take this responsibility very seriously. It’s critical for the public to know, the Florida Supreme Court has amended Florida Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.420 regarding the review and redaction of personal information contained in certain court documents. Starting July 1, 2021, filers will be solely responsible for ensuring any confidential information contained in court records filed with the Clerk is appropriately identified for redaction in these cases. A filer is anyone who submits official court documents with the Clerk in order to start or support a legal action.
