Young Hunter Licenses in Delaware County Public Hearing
Public Hearing Scheduled for 12 and 13-Year-Old Licensed Hunters in Delaware County
Delaware County residents will have an opportunity to weigh in on a proposed local law concerning hunting regulations for younger licensed hunters. The Delaware County Board of Supervisors scheduled a public hearing for Local Law Intro. No. 16 of 2021.
This proposed local law specifically authorizes 12 and 13-year-old licensed hunters to hunt deer with a firearm or crossbow during hunting season. The law stipulates that this activity must occur under the direct supervision of an adult licensed hunter.
The Department of Economic Development announced the public hearing. This hearing provides a forum for community members from towns across the county, such as Delhi and Walton, to express their views and ask questions regarding the proposed changes to local hunting regulations.
