Harold Christianson, Boise Cascade Superintendent, Dies at 90

Harold LeRoy Christianson, a Rogers Corner resident who retired as Maintenance Superintendent at the Boise Cascade Paper Mill, died Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He was 90.
Mr. Christianson was born October 23, 1935, in Rat Root Township to Bernard and Agnes Christianson. He graduated from Falls High School and studied electrical and HVAC systems at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis. He served in the United States Navy before joining Boise Cascade.
He married Corrine Ann Peterson on April 5, 1955. The couple raised six children on their family farm in Rogers Corner, then built a home on Gannon Creek where they hunted and fished. Mr. Christianson carved gnomes, walking sticks, and back scratchers, and took trips to Canada and Alaska. His wife died after 53 years of marriage.
He is survived by daughters Paula Nielson, Cindy Meyer, Wendy Westerlund, Sheila Gould, and Kristina Baumchen; son Robert Christianson; brothers Floyd and Norman Christianson; sister Linda Mankus; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Ericsburg Cemetery, County Road 142 in Ericsburg. A luncheon will follow at VFW Post 2948 in International Falls.
