Correctional Services Consultant Requisition ID: 71401 Agency: Department of Corrections Working Title: Correctional Services Consultant Position Type: SES - Staff Employment Service Position Location: Marianna, FL Salary: $47,501.04 - $129,499.92 Closing Date: Open Until Filled Division of Security Programs / Bureau of Standards and Inspections Specific Duties and Responsibilities: This is a highly responsible position providing technical assistance, monitoring, and consultation to correctional facilities to ensure compliance with policies and best practices. The incumbent will conduct comprehensive inspections of correctional facilities, assess operational effectiveness, and provide recommendations for improvement. The Correctional Services Consultant will also assist in the development and implementation of corrective action plans, conduct training sessions, and maintain accurate records of inspections and findings. Work is performed independently under the general direction of the Bureau Chief. Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or a closely related field. Five years of experience in correctional facility operations, including experience in security, investigations, or program management. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of correctional facility operations, security procedures, and inmate management practices. Ability to conduct thorough inspections and assessments of correctional facilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to utilize various computer programs.
