February 26, 2020 MEDIA ADVISORY WHO: Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) students with disabilities, local business partners and community agencies. WHAT: HiREe (High School Recruitment Event) Job Fair WHEN: Saturday, March 28, 2020, 9 a.m. – Noon WHERE: Nova Southeastern University – Rick Case Arena, Don Taft University Center, 3301 College Avenue, Davie, FL 33314 WHY: BCPS is hosting the HiREe Job Fair to provide students with disabilities an opportunity to connect with area businesses and community agencies, to explore career options and future employment opportunities. More than 200 students, representing all BCPS high schools, are expected to participate in the HiREe Job Fair. The event provides a venue for students to meet and greet with prospective employers, learn about job possibilities and participate in mock interviews. Participating businesses and agencies include Walgreens, Broward County government, Broward College, Florida Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, The Arc Broward and many more. The District’s transition programs for students with disabilities offer support to students as they prepare for life after graduation. From career and technical education to independent living skills, students are provided the resources and supports needed to achieve success.
