Movie Night Enjoy a beautiful, outdoor, South Florida evening under the stars watching a family-friendly movie on the waterfront! Guests are welcome to bring their own food and blankets and/or lawn chairs. The City of Aventura will provide free popcorn, but there will also be food and drink options for available for purchase duration of the event. Movie Night Double Feature Saturday, February 21, 2026 Snyder Park (Behind the Rec Center) 3375 NE 188th Street Gates open at 6:00PM Lilo & Stitch (2025) - 7:00PM Grab your tropical outfit and get ready for laughs, heart, and a whole lot of chaos as Lilo & Stitch hits the big screen. Perfect for kids, parents, and anyone who loves a feel-good adventure. *Freakier Friday - 9:30PM Get ready to freak out... again! The ultimate body swap comedy is back with Freakier Friday. Twice the chaos and twice the laugh and a whole lot of "wait... that's you?" Movie night fun for the whole family. *This screening will be a silent disco-style event with wireless headphones. The city will provide headphones, which must be checked in and out. A valid ID will be held for security until the headphones are returned. Ticket Information Tickets will be attached to your receipt upon payment. To enter the event, you must pick up your own wristbands at the Community Recreation Center prior to the event. Each movie requires its own ticket. If you plan to attend both movies, you must purchase a ticket for each one separately. Reservations are required and can only be made online at cityofaventura.com/ors. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 10:00AM. Cost for Lilo & Stitch: $2 per person (all ages, including babies, require a ticket). Cost for Freakier Friday: $4 per person (all ages, including babies, require a ticket). Tickets are non-transferable and cannot be duplicated. Wristband Pick-Up A valid ID is required for wristband pick-up. Each ticket corresponds to one wristband, which must be worn for entry. Wristbands must be picked up in advance at the Community Recreation Center between Tuesday, February 17 through Friday, February 20 during the following hours: 9:00AM - 12:00 PM 7:00PM - 9:00PM Parking Parking will be available in front of the City of Aventura Community Recreation Center/ Arts and Cultural Center. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to park and get settled in prior to show time. Safety Guidelines The City’s Community Services Department carefully planned and prepared this event with guidelines to safely protect the health and welfare of the community it serves. Please be advised that details may be subject to change due to any updated safety restrictions and guidelines. The Community Recreation Center restrooms will be available for use. Entrance/exits will be monitored by City of Aventura Police & Rec Center staff, but being that this is a waterfront venue, the city requests that families please be sure to keep their little ones close at all times. Teacher Planning Day Programs
Wondering what to do when school is out? Register for one of Aventura’s many programs during school breaks including teacher planning days. When school is not in session due to teacher planning days, the City offers children ages 5-12 a day-camp feel with a variety of enrichment activities such as sports, health & wellness programs, games, arts & crafts, project-based learning, and recreational activities. When 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Schedule: Tuesday, September 23 Thursday, October 2 Monday, November 3 Tuesday, November 4 (ACES ONLY) Friday, January 16th (MDCPS ONLY) Friday, March 20 (MDCPS ONLY) Monday, March 30 (ACES ONLY) Friday, April 3 Friday, June 5 Where Community Recreation Center3375 NE 188 St. Program Fee The program fee for each day includes all activities, supplies, and lunch at a rate of $45 for Aventura residents and $52 for non-Aventura residents. Aventura Waterways Afterschool Program
The afterschool program provides Aventura Waterways K-8 Center students with academic assistance including homework, guidance in specific areas of study, and the opportunity to engage in fun cross-curricular games at the Aventura Community Recreation Center. Schedule Monday through Friday from dismissal time through 6:00 p.m. Location Aventura Community Recreation Center located at 3375 NE 188 Street Transportation The City will provide bus transportation at dismissal time only from the school to the recreation center on all school days. Parents or guardians are responsible to pick up their child/children from the recreation center no later than 6:00 p.m. Program Fee The program fee varies monthly. The fee includes all activities, supplies and transportation. Snacks will be provided.
