Duke Energy Closes Citrus Ave, Reduces US 41 Lanes

Duke Energy Florida will close North Citrus Avenue and reduce lanes on US 41 Wednesday and Thursday as crews upgrade the power grid serving Inverness.

Work runs Monday through Friday, May 18-22, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with potential extensions beyond those hours.

Wednesday and Thursday bring the heaviest restrictions:

North Citrus Avenue closes entirely between Tompkins Street and US 41 from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.

US 41 loses one lane on both sides at the South Citrus Avenue intersection from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

US 41 and South Citrus Avenue intersection will close briefly, three to five minutes at a time, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Drivers should allow extra travel time. Work may extend to additional days if weather delays progress.
