Cape Cod Water Fund Awards $53.1M for Wastewater Projects
The Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund Management Board approved $53.1 million in subsidies for ten wastewater projects across Barnstable, Dennis, Eastham, Mashpee, and Yarmouth on April 29, 2026.
Each project received a contingent commitment for a 25 percent subsidy and appears on the 2026 Clean Water State Revolving Fund Intended Use Plan.
"These investments are a clear sign that we are moving in the right direction," said Kevin Galligan, chair of the Water Protection Fund Management Board.
The fund has committed more than $360 million in subsidies since 2018. It draws revenue from a 2.75 percent excise tax on traditional lodging and short-term rentals.
The Management Board also amended fund regulations to clarify eligibility for new member communities in Dukes and Nantucket Counties.
