Pasco County Opens Second 911 Center in Dade City
Pasco County activated a second 911 Communications Center in Dade City, expanding emergency response capacity and creating new dispatcher positions.
The facility operates full-time alongside the existing New Port Richey center, providing backup capability and improved system resiliency across the county.
"Opening this second center is more than a facility milestone – it's a people milestone," Emergency Services Director Captain Eric Seltzer said. "We're growing, we're modernizing and we're creating new opportunities for people who want to build a meaningful career in public safety."
The county is hiring emergency communications specialists to staff the new center. Dispatchers serve as the first point of contact during emergencies, coordinating responses between callers and first responders.
Pasco County also completed full 911 consolidation, making it one of few Florida counties where all municipalities use a single unified dispatch system. The consolidation standardizes emergency communications countywide.
The Dade City center strengthens service delivery for residents, visitors and first responders throughout the county.
Job applications are available at the county's employment portal.
