On May 19, Fayetteville-Manlius voters will decide on the annual school budget, other propositions, and fill three seats on the board of education. Voter Eligibility Voters must be citizens of the United States, 18 years or older, and a resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to May 19, 2026. Early Mail Ballots All qualified district residents are eligible to vote early with a mail-in ballot for any reason. Absentee Ballots Any resident who is an eligible voter and will be out of the county on May 19 or unable to get to the polls can submit an application to vote by absentee ballot. The following are valid reasons for eligible voters to apply for an absentee ballot. If you are: A patient in the hospital or unable to appear personally at the polling place because of illness; Unable to appear personally at the polling place because of illness or physical disability, or because of duties related to the primary care of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled;  Absent from the county of residency; or Detained in jail awaiting grand jury action, awaiting trial, or confined in prison after conviction of an offense other than a felony. Military Ballots Individuals serving in the military on the day of the vote, or who have been discharged within 30 days of the vote are also eligible to receive a ballot upon receipt of a military ballot application. A military voter’s spouse, parent, child or dependent who is accompanying the military voter is also eligible for a military ballot application. Applications and Deadlines Applications are required for voters who wish to vote by early mail, absentee, or military ballot. They are available online or by calling 315-692-1200.  If the absentee ballot is to be mailed, the application must be received by the District Clerk, or designee, no later than 4 p.m. on May 12.  If the absentee ballot is to be personally delivered, the application must be received by the District Clerk, or designee, before 4 p.m. on May 18. Please note that ballots must be received at the District Office by May 19, not postmarked by May 19. In addition to mailing ballots, voters may return their ballots to a dedicated, secure mailbox that will be outside the District Office.
