Day.News reports that the Dense Fog Advisory issued for Eastern Chichagof Island has officially expired as of 9:00 AM AKDT today, October 8, 2026. The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Juneau AK, was in effect from 8:38 AM AKDT until 9:00 AM AKDT.
According to the NWS Juneau AK, fog has begun to dissipate, and visibilities are increasing in the affected area. While the advisory has expired, some areas of fog may persist throughout the morning, with visibilities potentially as low as 1 statute mile (SM).
