Dense Fog Advisory Ending for Southeast Alaska
A Dense Fog Advisory for Admiralty Island, Petersburg Borough, Western Kupreanof and Kuiu Island, Prince of Wales Island, City and Borough of Wrangell, and Ketchikan Gateway Borough, has largely dissipated as of 10:00 AM AKDT today, September 25, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Juneau has issued an update regarding a Dense Fog Advisory. Most of the dense fog in the affected areas has dissipated. However, some patches of fog may persist further into the morning.
This advisory, issued September 25 at 9:48 AM AKDT, was effective until 10:00 AM AKDT today, September 25. The affected areas included Admiralty Island, Petersburg Borough, Western Kupreanof and Kuiu Island, Prince of Wales Island, City and Borough of Wrangell, and Ketchikan Gateway Borough.
Drivers and pedestrians should remain aware of potentially reduced visibility in localized areas as fog patches continue to clear. No specific safety instructions were provided by the NWS beyond the dissipation notice.
