Homestead Wastewater Rates Increase Oct. 1, 2025

Homestead residents and businesses will pay more for wastewater service starting October 1, 2025. The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA) is implementing new rates, fees, and charges for various service classes.

Single-family residential customers will pay a $39.96 monthly Base Facility Charge. They will also pay a Wastewater Flow Collection Charge of $15.13 per thousand gallons, capped at 10,000 gallons of metered water consumption monthly.

Commercial and other service classes will also see rate changes. A 5/8” x ¾” meter will have a $39.96 monthly Base Facility Charge. Larger meters will cost more, with a 4” meter at $1,498.76 and an 8” meter at $4,109.39. The Wastewater Flow Collection Charge for these classes is $15.13 per thousand gallons on all metered water consumption.

Customers using alternative water supplies will pay $120.15 monthly, covering the wastewater base charge and 5,300 gallons of flow. Seniors using alternative water supplies will receive a reduced rate.

Other fees include $80.00 for annual industrial wastewater discharge permits, $636.00 for new facility reviews, and connection charges ranging from $8,137.00 for low-pressure systems to $9,918.00 for gravity systems.

System Development Charges for new residential and commercial connections have also updated. Multi-unit residential properties with three units or less will pay $8,551.00 per unit. Common area facilities and multi-unit properties will be charged $227.00 per fixture value.
