Miami Dade College West Campus Wins Skin Safety Award

Miami Dade College West Campus received a Platinum Level Skin Smart Campus Award from The National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention for its commitment to skin cancer prevention and UV safety education. Students and staff can access free sunscreen at West Park, Room 1310.

The college also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida. This partnership will introduce new courses and services at West Campus beginning next spring, aiming to broaden educational access and cultural understanding.

The campus supports career development through programs like the Tesla Start Program. Recent student achievements include Juan Serna's supply chain management internship at PortMiami and Alessandro Santoro's recognition by the Psi Beta National Honor Society for service and leadership, alongside Professor Dr. Trinidad Argüelles.

The West Gallery, a campus art space, showcases diverse artists and hosts annual juried student exhibitions and workshops.

Registration for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 is open. Students should meet with an advisor to plan their academic path.
