Burna Boy to Headline NFL Paris Game Halftime Show

Nigerian Afro-fusion singer Burna Boy will headline the NFL's inaugural game in France, performing at halftime on Oct. 25 at Stade de France in Paris. The announcement came Thursday on Good Morning America.

The Paris Game marks the first NFL game ever played in France and is part of a record nine international games scheduled this season. Burna Boy will perform between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints.

Burna Boy, known for hits like "Last Last" and "Love," expressed his excitement in a statement released by the NFL. "The NFL is bringing something to France that has never happened here before, and I get to stand in the middle of it representing African music and I intend to give the people a show they will not forget," he said.

Tim Tubito, senior director of global game presentation, music and entertainment at the NFL, noted the cultural significance of the event. "Paris is one of the great cultural capitals of the world, and African music sits right at the heart of what the city listens to," Tubito stated.

Other artists announced for international NFL game halftime shows this season include the Jonas Brothers, Pedro Sampaio, Ricky Martin, Ayra Starr, Cage The Elephant, and The Warning. This season also sees NFL games played for the first time in Rio de Janeiro and Paris. Return host cities include London, Madrid, Munich, and Mexico City. Melbourne hosted its first NFL game earlier this season.

The NFL Paris Game airs Sunday, Oct. 25, at 9:30 a.m. ET on the NFL Network.
