This method aims to provide peace of mind during a difficult time. USPS ensures shipments of ashes are handled with care and delivered efficiently. The official USPS Cremated Remains Kit is available free of charge from the USPS website and includes necessary packaging and labeling.

The shipping process requires waiting for a collection kit, which typically arrives within one to two business days after ordering. The kit contains a small collection pouch, a tiny spoon, a self-addressed return envelope, and instructions. Senders must wait for this kit to properly secure the ashes.

Approximately 1/5 teaspoon of ashes is needed for smaller keepsakes like beads or charms, and 1/3 teaspoon for larger items or multiple pieces.
