Don Weber Appointed to North Plains City Council Seat
Don Weber will fill a vacant North Plains City Council seat after Mayor Aaron Dumbrow cast the deciding vote in a tie decision this week.
Weber, a retired church and school administrator, will serve through December 31, 2026. The seat opened when Councilor Michele McCall-Wallace resigned in October. The council chose Weber from six applicants.
Weber moved to North Plains five years ago and has served on the Re-Look Committee for the Urban Growth Boundary issue and the North Plains Parks & Recreation Board.
The city charter requires the council to appoint a replacement when a councilor resigns, dies or is removed from office.
The council also reappointed Jacquelyn Hunt to the Economic Development Commission and Chi Miller to the Planning Commission, each for four-year terms.
One council seat remains open following Dumbrow's appointment as mayor in November. The city is accepting applications through December 26, 2025 at noon at https://bit.ly/48Ghn2x.
