Gas Line Project Nears Completion After Construction Blitz

Cincinnati’s gas line installation project moved significantly closer to completion this week following a concentrated construction blitz. Duke Energy and AMS crews worked around the clock, successfully completing several key phases of the project.

During the recent blitz, crews finished the gas main, including all necessary testing and gassing up the line. They also connected four of the eight needed tie-ins and completed connections for 14 of the 29 customer service laterals. Restoration work also began on the areas where construction concluded.

Duke Energy and AMS received thanks for their efforts, particularly for working through challenging weather conditions. Residents, motorists, and business owners in the close-knit neighborhoods along Miami Avenue also received thanks for their patience during this period of intensive work.

Looking ahead, Duke Energy reports that crews will return to the site on Monday and Tuesday for additional tie-in and service lateral work, alongside project site clean-up. This work may involve some rolling lane restrictions, but Miami Avenue will remain open to through traffic. No construction crews will be present on Miami Avenue during the upcoming holiday shopping season. Duke Energy plans to return in January to finalize the project and ensure reliable service for the Queen City's eastern suburbs.
