New dash camera footage provides a dramatic, close-up view of Florida Highway Patrol troopers apprehending an alleged carjacker yesterday after a high-speed chase that spanned across Hialeah and into Northwest Miami-Dade.

The pursuit began after 35-year-old Jordan Eugene Brown allegedly carjacked a woman outside Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah. Brown had reportedly just undergone a mental health evaluation at the hospital when he took the vehicle. The woman was uninjured in the incident.

The chase, described as "wild," saw Brown's vehicle nearly collide with police cars as he attempted to evade capture. Law enforcement agencies, including Florida Highway Patrol troopers, used multiple precision immobilization techniques (PIT maneuvers) to try and stop the speeding car. During the pursuit, Brown drove through a handicap parking sign, knocking it to the ground.

Troopers and officers finally ended the pursuit near Northwest 79th Street and 17th Avenue in Northwest Miami-Dade with a fifth PIT maneuver. Dashcam footage shows troopers with weapons drawn, extracting Brown from the wrecked vehicle. Brown remains behind bars at the Miami-Dade Pretrial Detention Center, facing multiple charges related to the carjacking and pursuit.
