Head Start/Early Head Start Mission Statement
The Head Start program is a comprehensive child development program serving children from 3 to 5 years of age. These services are family-centered and follow the tenets that children develop in the context of their family and culture.
Head Start is also child-focused since the primary goal is to increase the social competence in young children from low-income families. This definition of social competence takes into account the interrelatedness of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Our local Head Start program is a program of excellence. At Paradise Christian School we provide a high-quality Head Start program to serve our children and families.

Beat the Heat
As we know, the sun can be quite brutal between 10am-4pm. It's important to take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our children. If the temperature outside is 90 degrees or above, please avoid spending time outdoors. This can help prevent heat exhaustion and other heat-related illnesses. Instead, find indoor activities to keep the children entertained and cool.
Tips for Preventing Heat-Related Illness for the children enrolled and yourself (Overheating, Sunburn/playground equipment burn, dehydration, heat stroke, etc.)
- Check the outside temperature before going outside
- Appropriate Clothing
- Stay Cool Indoors
- Schedule Outdoor Activities Carefully
- Drink Plenty of Fluids

Teacher Reading Recommendation
