The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) provides potable (drinking) water services to approximately 75,000 metered connections in Escambia County, Florida. ECUA operates and maintains a modern water treatment plant and distribution system. Our mission is to provide our customers with a safe and reliable supply of drinking water at a reasonable cost, while protecting our natural resources. ECUA is responsible for the distribution of potable water to its customers. This includes operating and maintaining the water pipes, ensuring adequate water pressure, and responding to water main breaks. Our water distribution system consists of over 1,800 miles of underground pipes and numerous pump stations, storage tanks, and control valves.
