Press Release: Historian Steve Lent to Present Lecture on the History of the Meek Wagon Trail • Crook County, OR PRINEVILLE, Ore. — The Bowman Museum will host historian Steve Lent for a special lecture exploring the history and significance of the Lost Meek Wagon Trail on Wednesday, October 14, at 6 p.m. The Meek Wagon Trail played an important role in the history of Oregon and the settlement of the region. During his presentation, Lent will examine the trail’s history, its significance to Oregon’s development, and the people and events connected to its journey through the landscape. Lent will also share newly discovered information about the Meek Wagon Trail, offering attendees an opportunity to hear fresh perspectives and learn more about a historic route that continues to capture the interest of historians and local communities. The lecture will be held at the Bowman Museum and is open to the public. History enthusiasts, local residents, and anyone interested in Oregon’s early history are encouraged to attend. Other recorded and filed documents include: Military Discharges, Mining Records, Oaths of Office, Powers of Attorney, and Taxing District Budgets.
