Residents in Spalding, Henry, and Butts counties are advised to seek immediate shelter due to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service Peachtree City, GA. This alert is effective immediately, October 10, 2026, at 5:01 AM EDT, and expires at 5:15 AM EDT.

National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a strong storm with an enhanced risk of a brief tornado. The storm, part of a tropical rain band, was located over McKibben, near Jackson, moving northwest at 50 mph as of 5:01 AM EDT.

Locations impacted include McDonough, Jackson, Stockbridge, Hampton, Lovejoy, Locust Grove, Jenkinsburg, Blacksville, Ola, Walker Mill, McKibben, Luella, Flippen, Indian Springs State Park, and Kelleytown.

Storms embedded within this rainband have exhibited localized rotation, indicating that a brief tornado could form quickly. People outdoors should seek shelter immediately.
