The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, NV, issued the warning at 5:10 AM PDT. At that time, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 8 miles southwest of Echo Bay Campground to over Pierce Ferry And Antares Roads, or along a line from 20 miles northeast of Las Vegas Bay to 40 miles north of Kingman, moving northeast at 40 mph.

These storms are capable of producing damaging winds with gusts up to 60 mph, according to radar indications. Impacts may include damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include Overton, Moapa Town, Moapa Valley, South Cove, Temple Bar Campground, Meadview, Echo Bay, Echo Bay Campground, Grand Canyon Ranch, Overton Beach, Pierce Ferry And Antares Roads, Grand Canyon Skywalk, Valley Of Fire, Callville Bay Campground, Callville Bay, Dolan Springs, Hoover Dam, Logandale, Boulder Beach Campground, and Boulder Beach.

If you are on or near Lake Mead, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike up to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm.
